Hello there.
My name is Sarah, and this is my blog. I was born and raised in Richmond, VA where I still live, work, and play. I work full time, mom full time, and make an honest attempt at running a tight ship at home by implementing crazy rules and ruling with an iron fist.
Just kidding.
I have dishes in my sink, unmade beds, and consistently have a mountain of laundry threatening to avalanche all over my living room.
Hey, how can you run a home and raise productive children without a little consistency? Also kidding... not really.
I love LOVE my life, my spouse-ish, and my collective kiddos--my daughter who is six, and my step-ish boy who is thirteen. They are smart, funny, talented, and thankfully cute... because sometimes, they're not so cute. But I love them all and all of our weirdness together.
I am particularly fond of music, both playing and listening to, and I am a total sucker for a good book and will spend hours and hours reading when I should be doing other things like laundry or sleeping.
I have a slight obsession with my Kindle. and Facebook. and Pinterest. Becoming easily distracted, particularly being able to recall things I'm supposed to be doing, is a challenge for me which I combat by compulsively making lists.
Cooking is super fun for me. Supper is my worst enemy. We're frenemies, really. It's not that fixing a delicious meal is a daunting task for me. It's the deciding on what to prepare: the planning, the asking "hey what do you want for dinner" and getting responses such as "I dunno", or "food". Oh? What kind of food, darling? "The good kind." Really.
Breakfast on the other hand... my love. I could, and would, have breakfast for supper or any meal every day and would never tire of it. Except that I am not a morning person, and really, no member of my household actually does "early". Our "early" is really like 10AM... Ironic, no? No, not really, since breakfast is appropriately served at any hour of the day. Hello, brunch.
Oh and cake. I love cake and would eat that every day, too.
I started this blog over a year ago and have totally neglected it. My intent is to share some favorite recipes of mine, maybe some crafty tidbits, and snippets of my trials and tribulations that come with making an attempt at raising humans.
Feeding people is one of my favorite things to do, and I hope you can take away something from reading my sort of nonsense that would be useful in your life or your kitchen!
Thanks for spending time here when you could be doing other things like laundry or sleeping. Leave me a comment, and let me know what you thought!
